So you’ve cleaned the toilet & mopped the floor but to have a really clean bathroom, you need to look into every nook and cranny… bathroom cleaning, all the ins and outs.
1. Mirrors
It’s all too easy to ignore the smears and fingermarks as you peer into the mirror every morning but cleaning the mirror is an easy win! Buff it with a little white vinegar and paper towels for a sparkling, smear-free finish.
2. Plugholes
Once a month, pour a kettle of boiling water over a cup of washing soda crystals scattered around each plughole. This will help clear grease and soap scum, banish odours and leave drains running freely. If you find the plughole gets clogged regularly with long hairs, try a plughole cover
3. Cleaning cloths
Replace cleaning cloths regularly, or clean and soak in a disinfectant or bleach solution at least once a week. Keep cloths used for the loo in a separate place. A good tip is to keep some disinfectant wipes too for a quick spruce round in between the weekly clean.
4. Toothbrushes
Toothbrush mugs are a haven for all sorts of nasty bacteria. You need to clean them thoroughly at least once a week.
5. Ventilation
After using the bathroom, leave a window open or run the extractor fan to ventilate it and discourage mould from developing.
6. Baths
If the bath is very dirty, fill it with warm water, add a couple of scoops of biological washing powder, and leave to soak overnight. Rinse it before bathing!
Happy bathroom cleaning!!
